Hi all, lookin for help on this one.
An office has two computers. XP Pro, different hardware, but similar configurations with Office 2003, printers, etc& Boss and Secretary. Both are hooked up with a pop/smtp gmail account through Outlook. Been set up this way for years. Both send out emails (leads) with two attachments that are both PDF. Email sizes range from 3MB to 7MB. They send out approximately 3 to 4 of these emails per hour. Recently, (within the past two months) the Boss emails are lagging in the outbox of Outlook 2003 (4-6 Minutes per email). Secretarys email goes out as it always has (1-1.5 Minutes per email). If the Boss gets two or more emails backed up in the outbox, it turns into 30-40 minutes before they leave. Secretary still sees 1-1.5 per email no matter how many. The only recent change to either computer was that the Boss installed more RAM to see if that helped the problem. After some investigation/testing I determined that in the status of Secretarys NIC, she is sending packets out in increments of 60 per second, Boss is leaving at a consistent clip of 30 per second. Tried a new NIC in Bosss machine, no change. Changed Bosss network connection to another office. Disabled antivirus, firewall, switched ports in the switch/router, compared all settings in Outlook/NIC to be the same. No matter whether its browsing, emailing, ftping it always sends 30 packets at a time. Hers is always 60.
Question is there a place in XP/Outlook/etc& to select or change the number of packets or size of packets per second? Any other ideas?
