Question : How do I block Wi-FI Signals

I have a client, which is small seminary college.  The Dean is interested in blocking the Internet inside one of the classroom\library spaces.  Students will need their laptops however for taking notes, etc.  I don't really have a lot of experience with this.  The school is in the middle of New York City, so there are other signals coming into the building that students can see.  Does anyone have any experience with WiFI blockers?  Any suggestions?  Also, I want to make sure they are not too powerful, since I don't want to interfere with anyone wifi in the general vicinity (the classroom is on the 6th floor of the building, but there are other rooms on the 5th floor that do need WIFI).

Answer : How do I block Wi-FI Signals

As ^^^ stated there isnt really a good way to block signals. Well at least that wouldnt cost a ton of money or possibly get you in some trouble with the FCC. If you absolutely needed to shield the room from wifi you would indeed need to make a farraday cage.

If you are not familiar with what that is, you would need to take some fine copper mesh and line the whole room. The mesh will block and disrupt the outside radio signals from wifi, a side effect will be that all other signals are blocked as well such as cell phones, radio, etc.

Overall not very practical to do.
