Question : Virtual FTP sites on Window 2000 Server
Hi
We have a webserver hosting Websites. We have 1 IP so all the websites are virtual.
We have about 100 of them and this is working fine
We wanted to add FTP options for some of the customer who are changing CMS system and will need to upload foles.
I can see that you can only create 1 FTP account as if you create another one there are conflicts on ports. I am not interested in changing port number for each of them etc...
My Question is how to use the Virtual Directory to create several FTP accounts?
I have created a couple in this way:
ftp://domain.com/website1
ftp://domain.com/website2
etc
I have followed the wizard browsing website1 over to the webhotel for that website.
I have created a user with full access to that folder
When I try to connect via FTP client it returns the error:
"The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for"
I can access my "root" FTP with no problems. Issues only with the virtual directories
Does anyone have any advice?
Kind Regards
Morten

The other option is to get some more public IP's from your ISP and assign the addresses to different FTP sites and configure your external DNS accordingly.
