Question : BackupExec across to networks

have backup exec on standalone server, would like to be able to backup servers on two different networks this is what I have. PowerEdge 830 with dual nics. Windows 2008 std. x64

192.168.60.x
255.255.255.0
gw 192.168.60.1

net#2
192.168.50.x
255.255.255.0
no gw adx

when both nics are connected, the server loses the little ball on the network connection, which is internet access only I guess. If I leave off the gateway from the 60.x subnet would I be able to successfully backup on both subnets.
right now I can only backup on 1.

Are you able to ping by name and access shares on the other machines.  eg  \\servername\c$

It involves selecting a specific NIC for Backup Exec to use and then ticking the box saying it can use any available NIC or protocol if the remote agent is not on the selected subnet.  I have checked and confirmed this is still an option on Backup Exec 12.5d
