Question : Active Driectory DNS Server causing slow internet speeds

I have a client that we migrated thier server 2000 to thier exisiting server 2003 file server. Ever since the change, the DNS is taking a long time to open sites and times out on others. Also, when some sites do finally run it's missing content like pictures etc. Would could cause the win2k3 dns server to act like this?

Answer : Active Driectory DNS Server causing slow internet speeds

There are a few things to look at.

First check your clients are using only the new Windows 2003 DNS a their DNS settings in IP Configuration, this is probably set using a DHCP server?

Also make sure that your servers are pointing to this server for DNS.

Try setting forwards in the DNS server settings, in the DNS manager right click on the servername and select properties then the forwarders tab.  Enter the ISP DNS servers in here.
