Question : how to setup a static IP address

I have a PC and three macs all working on a wireless Netgear DG834G router setup as a DHCP server. I have to setup a Netgear DG602 wireless access point using the PC. I need to temporarily change the PC's IP settings to static IP address so that i can configure the access point - how do I do this?

To configure a static IP address on the PC go to control panel | network connections | right click on the appropriate network adapter and choose properties | highlight Internet protocol (TCP/IP) - [Vista choose Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)] and click properties | enter a static IP (probably 192.168.0.x), in the same range as the Netgear DG602, and configure the subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and gateway (the router's IP).
