Question : Ping DHCP address but not a Static address
I have configured an Cisco 877 as a VPN server which the clients connect using the Cisco VPN client. The router is configured as a DHCP server and everything works fine apart from one issue. If I assign a static address to a node on the network the remote users are unable to ping that address, apart from the static address on the server. If it is a DHCP address then there is no problem. I have checked the ACL policy on the firewall and there is no restriction. I have tried a Tracert on a static address remotely and this drops at the Router. I just cannot see what is wrong or what I am missing - any help greatly appreciated. John

I'm assuming that subnet is /24, but it may be irrelevant. Do you have the default gateway set on the Nortel BCM and any other devices that aren't communicating?
