Question : Folder and file permissions

Hi Everyone,

Melite here.

I have a question about Folder and File permissions thats getting the better of me at the moment.

When I try to change the permissions on a folders, I get an "Access is denied" advisory. I am logged on as the system administrator and have Full Access perms.

(A bit of background may help add some context here):
I had a workgroup setup thats been transformed into a domain setup.

In order to centralise folders and files on the server, I have copied and pasted some and cut and pasted others and I'm fairly certain that this has something to do with why I get the "Access is denied" advisory on some of them.

Is there a way that I can get around this issue so that I can set the perms as needed?

Thanks in advance!!!

Answer : Folder and file permissions

Take overship of the folder you have problems with & then configure what you need.
1. Right click the folder such as My
documents--->properties--->Security--->Advanced--->Owner tab--->Edit.
2. Try to grant Administrators group the Owner of the folder. Then close
the folder properties.
3. Reopen the folder properties and grant the Administrators group proper
permissions as you need.
