Question : Cisco PIX 501 & router adsl
|
|
Ok, I've setup a few cisco pix before, but always using modems, never a router. I'm used to putting in as outside ip in cisco pix the public ip and gateway of my isp, and as inside the inside ip of network...
my problem is that i have a netopia router configured with a public static ip and a local 172.16.0.100 gateway... so each computer on network needs to use 172.16.0.100 as gateway.
how do i need to configure the Cisco Pix 501 in order for it to be able to be linked between the router and the hub?
as in what do i set as outside and inside ip's in the cisco pix?

Do you have an ACL on the inside interface? If so, you must permit the return traffic from your web & terminal server.
Check your static addresses to see if they are being used by:
A: your E0 interface, B: your Global (outside) 1
If you wish, send me an email address where I can email you privately. I will then let you know where you can email your config to so that I can see what addresses you are actually using. If you are not comfortable with that, that would be understandable, but listed avove is where your problem is.
