Question : you may not be able to access the internet. this problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer
I have my modem and I am connecting the cable from this modem to my computer.........the internet works fine.........now when i use the same cable and plug it into my work laptop I get the following message :
you may not be able to access the internet. this problem
occurred because the network did not assign a network
address to the computer
Do I need to change some settings on my 2nd computer?? I guess some settings need to be changed on second laptop as internet is working fine on 1st laptop with the same modem and cable.

Answer : you may not be able to access the internet. this problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer
You may also want to try unplugging the modem and leaving it off for 2 full minutes, when you power it back up and everything comes up, plug it into the trouble laptop and see if that makes a difference.
