Question : Re: Demoting a domain controller

We currently have 2 domain controllers in our network.
I am trying to demote a domain controller through the AD wizard.
When I click in finish in the wizard and it starts the demotion process, I am the following message:
The operation failed:
Managing the network session with the servername failed.
Logon failure: the target account name is incorrect.
Please can someone assist.

i have had this issue numerous times with DCPROMO and it is common, there is a lot off issues with the DCPROMO tool that havent been resolved, if your credentials are correct you can use the forceremoval switch to completely remoce AD

you have to ensure that you have transfered appropriate FSMO roles and that you are 100% your ready to remove

DCPROMO /FORCEREMOVAL
