Question : Building a new dns box

I have Machine Running Linux+Bind, and I want make it a DNS server. At the moment there isn't any domain setup and I want to setup this for a domain mydomain.com. I have a global IP setup for it. 66.93.26.14 (example)

I will use ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com. Which will be NS records for mydomain.com

Now I bought the domain mydomain.com and in domain provider's control panel I have the option of setting up hostname of dns records  to put NOT THE IP ADDRESS as I'm I have my records to be hosted on my new machine.

as this is new domain on new machine I dont know how it works, Can someone explain it to me how DNS in such scenario works and how to deal with it.

Thanks

Answer : Building a new dns box

You should probably start by reading through this tutorial

http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?page=2&cid=F5D2E

then on your machine you need to setup bind itself..

have a look here for detailed instructions on the setup requirements..
