Question : Linksys BEFVP41 router and Netgear Prosafe VPN Client Compatability Errors
I have a Linksys BEFVP41 router and a laptop running XP on which I have installed Netgear's Prosafe VPN Client. My knowledge of VPN's is limited, but I have some experience. In the office, the laptop sits inside the network and functions just fine. When I am out of the office, I can establish Phase I IKE with the router, and I can see them exchange cookies. When the system attempts Phase II authorization, I get an Invalid_ID_Info error. I have checked and re-checked my settings on both ends and the appear to be the same. Netgear assures me that these two are compatible, but offers no tech support unless I pay. Linksys techs have tried twice to assist, but with no luck. Any one out there that can help?

BEFVP41 is perhaps best used for site to site between 2 units, that is not to say it won't work with a client. Documentation is scarce. The GreenBow client is somewhat similar to the Netgear Prosafe client (actually made by SafeNet) and therefor the following document may be of some help when setting up to connect to the BEFVP41: http://www.thegreenbow.com/doc/tgbvpn_cg_LinksysBEFVP41_en.pdf
If you still cannot configure the Netgear client you may want to try the GreenBow client. They have a 30 day free trial and the client licenses are about the same price. http://www.thegreenbow.com/vpn.html
