Question : SSL Certificate RWW - Fixed IP Address
Hi,
I have a fixed IP address, which is pointed to our SBS 2003. I am using Remote Web Workplace and get an certificate error when using
https://
/remote
.
I was going to purchase an SSL certificate from GoDaddy for $12. It appears that I need a FQDN associated with the IP address. I do not have a domain name associated with this IP Address. Can I just get the certficate issued under the IP address? I do not really want to pay for another domain name.
Thanks,
Roger
Answer : SSL Certificate RWW - Fixed IP Address
Assuming they are using Exchange - We recommend buying the SSL for the mail record. Example
https://mail.mydomainname.
com
This is more secure when connecting to RWW as well as configuring mobile device access to email via active sync.
