Question : ERROR: DNS server was unable to open Active Directory
My Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition is our primary DNS servers. And I am getting the following ERROR:
ERROR: DNS server was unable to open Active Directory. This DNS server is configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error code.
What do I need to do to fix this problem? I have three other servers that are domain controllers.
Answer : ERROR: DNS server was unable to open Active Directory
It depends if it repeats or when it occurs.
You may find that the condition is transient while rebooting due to a bit of a circular requirement loads DNS / Active Directory.
So...
When does it occur? Does it repeat on a regular basis?
