Question : static and a dynamic ipaddress assigned to the same NIC at the same time?

Is it possible to have both a static and a dynamic ipaddress assigned to the same NIC at the same time in windows 2000(or any windows)?
I know it´s possible in Linux but is there a way to do it in windows?

Answer : static and a dynamic ipaddress assigned to the same NIC at the same time?

there is no way for a static and a dynamic address to be assigned to a windows based machine... dhcp request will never be sent onto the lan if a static entry exists... its one static/dynamic ip per network card... unless you purchase teamed cards from a vendor such as compaq or something but then its the software from the vendor that permits it not, windows.
