Question : Trouble burning copy disc command using Windows internal system or Power2Go version 6
I bought a few DVD+R, double layer, 8.5 GB disks as well as some older CD-RW 700MB cd's to burn copies of program disks that I have.
I could not get the Windows Live File System format or Mastered format, which are the new commands in Vista. I could not get either old program disks that should be with the CD-RW to complete the copy, nor could I get the newer disks that are on DVD to burn to the ones that are labled DVD+R.
So I purchased Power2Go version 6 (version 5 was included on my laptop when I got it) and I cannot get it to finish one single copy. It comes back with an error every time. I tried to make the copy speed slow, and all other sorts of parameters to see what would work. I sent in a support request to Cyberlink (the makers of Power2Go) but have not heard back.
I am on a Lenovo Ideapad Y510 Notebook, with a newly OEM installation of Vista Unlimited SP2 64 bit with upgrade to 4GB ram.
My DVD is Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560A ATA Device. I do not see a 64 bit driver for this, only 32 bit when I look at the drivers in device manager.
Did I buy the wrong type of discs for the newer copy command? If so, this is what MicroCenter sales person recommended that I get.

If you can, try the drive in another system, but I am starting to think it is just a bad drive.
