Question : how to turn off internet connection of a user

how can i disable the internet connection of a terminal in a LAN after a certain period of time (say 1 hour) from the server and enable it too if i like? i don't have access to the router so i can't do an ACL. sockets programming? how?

You have two options

either go for a non M$ approach and use a product like websense www.websense.com which can change internet access depending on times of the day.

Or use a Proxy server, Even ols Proxy 2.0 will do this, though its no longer supported by M$ you will need to get M$ ISA server to perfom this funtionality.

You can also filter the IP address at your firewall or router.
