Question : Why to cordless telephnoe key pad get oil and wet

Some 6 months ago I cleaned the keypad contacts of two cordless with alcohol.
Now they same dialing problem appeared on different keys of the phone.
The  keypad is getting wet/oily somehow.  In both the phones the key pad
pressing buttons are made of rubber with carbon contacts. Also like to mention
that the humidity here is high all the year round.
In one case I washed the keypad to remove all oil and dry up the keypad
with hot air. The problem reappeared after 6 months.

I would like to know the reason,  why the keypads get wet and oily.
How could this be prevented ?

Answer : Why to cordless telephnoe key pad get oil and wet

Well, depending on the phone, if the keypad is near one's face, oil on the face will transfer.  If not the face, certainly from the fingers.  Clean the phone, do a single wrap of the keypad in clear cling wrap (the kind from the kitchen) and after you use it a few times, looks at it from an angle and you'll see little dropplets of oil... ;-0
