Question : create a lan using linksys voip router/gateway

Hello expert,

I would like help in setting up a lan using the following

PARADYNE DSL MODEM – configure as bridge
BELKIN DSL/CABLE ROUTER (WHICH NEEDS TO BE PROPERLY CONFIGURED AND USED TO
CREATE A LAN)
LINKSYS VOIP ROUTER /GATEWAY
CATEGORY/ETHERNET CABLES

The goal is here is to create a basic LAN infrastructure using the Belkin
Router to accomplish that and to successfully connect the computer and
Linkys VoIP Gateway.

Is it necessary to retain the BELKIN ROUTER since I have the linksys router

Kindly advise this the first time I am attempting this project.

Answer : create a lan using linksys voip router/gateway

You can replace the Belkin with the Linksys as long as it is a router and not just a VoIP Adapter.  You can configure the Linksys router just as you did the Belkin, setting up PPPOE (username and password) if required by your ISP and you're good to go.

The fact is you'll probably get better performance out of your VoIP line having it directly to the DSL Modem.
