Question : Too many POSIX.exe on Windows
We have an Oracle Application Server installed on this machine and this is the only software installed. When we released a new Oracle Forms application recently, since then, we noticed there were over 3000 posix.exe processes running and utilizing 98% CPU usage. I am not familiar on what a posix.exe does or how they work on Windows. Can anyone provide me with some suggestions or possible answers on how we can remedy this situation? After we noticed the 3000 processes running on the machine we completed a reboot, twice, until they went away. Now, we continuely have to reboot when the process reach over 400, which could happen after a day or two. I recently rebooted twice after finding the processes had grown to over 600 processes. What is the best way to handle this? What would happen if we left the machine alone and allowed the processes to grow? Thank you!
