Question : How to Configure DNS for Active Directory

How to Configure DNS for Active Directory

I have installed first AD in site1 and it's also a DNS server.
I installed another DC in site 2 and it's in the same domain as the first AD is, and it's also a DNS server. in this DC of site2 the Preferred DNS server is the IP of the DC in site1.
Well Now that AD Replication is done, can I reconfigure the  DC in site2 to have its IP for Preferred DNS server to point to itself or I need to keep it pointing the DC(DNS) in site1 ?

Thanks

Must be looking up the generic service records. May not be a big problem.

Can you see if they use the right DC by running "echo %logonserver%"? It's a bit of a basic test, but it should capture the site specific DC.

Did you also make DC2 a Global Catalog?
