Question : Outlook 2003 with .pst on network drive issues

Hello,

I have Outlook 2003 accessing a .pst file over a network drive.  What will happen is I'll be working normally, sending e-mails...et cetera.  Then I go to browse my .pst file and I get an access denied error message.  I have to close outlook and go back into for my .pst file to become available.+

Operating System: Windows 2000 SP4
E-Mail Client: Outlook 2003 with all updates
Anti-Virus: NAV 9.0 Client
Exchange Server 2003

I'm also not running Outlook 2003 in cached mode.

Answer : Outlook 2003 with .pst on network drive issues

I had this happen when I was using Outlook 2003 to access the old style PST files.

Did you create the PST in Outlook 2003 or is it from a previous version?  If it is an older file I would suggest creating a new PST by selecting "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)", not "Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (.pst)".  Then import the data from the old PST into that file.

That fixed it for me!
