Question : Cannot ping host but correct IP / MAC addresses show up in ARP table

I created a new host on a static VLAN 10.10.10.x/24 assigned IP address of 10.10.10.113.  From that host machine (.113) i can ping everything in the subnet.  I cannot ping/RDP/connect to 10.10.10.113 from anything on the network....

I checked the switch itself... port set to access mode... no port security.  When I ARP the switch i get the IP address 10.10.10.113 and the corresponding MAC address.

When i try to ping from another host in the same subnet i get timeouts, but when i run arp -a from command prompt it also comes up with the 10.10.10.113 IP and the correct MAC.

Answer : Cannot ping host but correct IP / MAC addresses show up in ARP table

i figured it out.  i was configuring a SNORT box on the network and was attempting to telnet to the port without listing 22 for SSH.  so my connections were not going through.  ICMP was turned off on the box itself.  i further confused myself by connecting my Vista laptop and trying to troubleshoot with that....

Once I specified port 22 for SSH everything worked as expected.
