Question : Transferring data between two PC's

I want to transfer data between two computers (without removing the Hard disk....coz I need to set it up for someone who can't do that). I realize this has to be done using a crossover cable, but what after that? Both are running on Windows XP.

In that case connect both machines to each other using a crossover network cable. Note that a crossover cable is wired differently to a standard patch cable so make sure you get the correct type.
