Question : Where to start with setting up a DNS server based on bind9 using Ubuntu?

I have a DNS box build using bind9 on Ubuntu 7.0.4 and I want to make it my DNS server. I have about three web sites that I'm hosting myself and I want to manage my own DNS server. I want to have a DNS server the same like the web hosting providers have but I don't know where to start from.
For example all my domain names are managed by GoDaddy.com registrar and when I looked at the DNS information there are two fields for the DN1.DNSSERVEREXAMPLE.COM and DN2.DNSSERVEREXAMPLE.COM. My dilemma is how can I have a domain name for my dns server since the only thing I have is an public IP address for that Ubuntu DNS server?

You will have to register your DNS server with the registrar. Probably it is best to first ask godaddy and tell them you want to host your own DNS server, possibly they can register it for you. Also you need at least 2 servers in different locations, each with it's own public IP if you want to be in charge of this. So you might want to put one of your DNS servers at a friends place. If you can't do that, then there won't be much point of hosting your own server.
