Question : Linksys WMP54G does not detect any wireless networks

I set up a Linksys WMP54G on a 98SE machine and couldn't get the included utility to detect my unsecured WRT54G network 20' from it. There are other machines here using the same cards that work perfectly. Ok, so I thought 98SE is smoked. Wiped and installed XP. (now the config is the very same as another machine 10' away from it.)

Still having the same problem. Same driver as the other machine that's working too.

Swapped cards, no difference.

I was able to manually configure an ad-hoc network to my laptop and it seemed to be working fine but to the AP.. nothing

There is no other wless networks in the vicinity to interfere either. Netstumbler confirmed that too.

Machine in question is a P3-800 with a DFI P2XBC motherboard. 256mb
