Question : CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET

i have never been able to solve this problem with any pc running XP. its simple. i cannot connect to the internet but the unit is connected to the router (wirelessly). there has to be a settings change that i am overlooking. tried system restore, setting up the wireless connecting again, turned off firewall and norton. WHAT AM I MISSING. i need a solution to this someday even though i moved on to vista. help my insanity on Christmas.

Thank You everyone for your suggestions. I figured it out on my own. It was Norton Internet Security. It had a corrupt file while loading. All I did was remove it and everything was fine. Thanks again guys and girls if any.
