Question : WAS cannot change LDAP configuration host value

Env: WAS 6.1 fixpak 25 on AIX 6.1

I don't know much about WAS but I configured WAS LDAP  (Active Directory) according to a J2EE application requirements.

Test connection succeeded for bind user.

I used IP address to set the Host value in LDAP configuration. Having other problems with the application, I decided to change Host value from IP to computer name.

To my surprise when I type in the computer name and press 'apply' or 'ok' the IP value is restored !!!

Is this normal? How can I change it?

Answer : WAS cannot change LDAP configuration host value

Solution 1 and 2 did not work.

IP address was not found in any xml file. I tried editing security xml, where all the values seem to be in there (ldap server was referenced by name in there) but WAS reported problems at startup.

I had to uninstall WAS and re-install.
