Question : Problems running Nal Application Explorer (Zen2)
|
|
I'm having problems running Nal Application Explorer (Zen2) when 'Run only allowed windows applications' is selected in the System Policies section of the user package.
Due to previous hacking problems, we restrict the apps the students can run. However, we are now upgrading them to Zenworks, and have tried to impement the same in the user package.
When I add nalexpld.exe in the list of allowed apps, it accepts it, but then disappears from the list. I then log in, and get the 'your administrator has restricted...' message, nalexpld doesn't run, and I don't get any Zen app objects on my desktop or start menu.
I don't seem to have any problems with apps, only the ones which run on startup in Zen (nalexpld, naldesk, services etc).
I'm running Zen2 (sp1) on a Netware 4.11 server (sp8a) and NT4.0 workstations (sp6)
How do I get these apps to stay?

We had this problem, it was fixed with a newer version of a Novell DLL.
names disappeared from the list of allowed executables when the list grew too big.
the DLL is WMGR32.DLL and can be found in sys:public\win95. The version that we are using is v4.51 (981027).
If you are using an older version try checking your other servers for newer versions.
