Question : Conversion of received signal strength .... visual basic wireless

hi i got a visual basic application which returns the signal strength. It uses wmi and the signal strength iam receiving ranges from -47 to -80 's approximately
i want in on a scale of 1 --- 100
i mean like 55% etc
can anyone give accurate range of signal strength ( i know its some ehere arounf -50 t0 - 100)
and also conversion code
i got some information from samurize.com but they give approximate values...
