Question : Can't back up Exchange 2000 Information Store
Exchange 2000 on Windows 2000 Small Business Server. When trying to back up the Information Store the process takes less than a second and backs up no files. The report says "Portions of "\Mailbox Store (servername)" cannot be read. The backed up data is corrupt or incomplete." Similar messages for public store and log files.
This is a not-for-profit with a neglected network. Hasn't been backed up before, C: drive is down to 2MB of free space. All unnecessary files have been deleted or moved to D:. No one's able to access their email, presumably because of the low disk space? I am under the impression that backing up will remove the 5GB of previous logs in the MDBDATA folder.

Wow I had some similar issues also. I would move the information store to d also. I think most backup programs need more than 2mb of disk space to work with. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B257184 You can also move the logs.
