Question : Download Protocol/Port
What protocol/port do reglar file downloads come over?Because of ISP reliability we have a T1 as our primary connection and a 5meg Ethernet handoff as a secondary, in the router we have set all http traffic to go through the 5meg connection. This has increased surfing speeds, but when a user clicks on a pdf or a file download they still get T1 download speeds. Do I need to also route ftp or some other protocol through the 5meg connection for downloads. I want to be able to go to a website and download software and/or documents at full 5meg speeds.
Answer : Download Protocol/Port
I have never tried to do this before, but I would think if you route all port 80, and 21 it might work....
Some sites like HP.com, when you DL something, it actually comes from thier FTP site....
