Question : Can't hit Internet except in Safe Mode w/Networking
|
|
In Normal boot up my LAN wired connection says limited or no connectivity and I cannot hit an internet page -but works fine in Safe Mode w/ Networking. So far I have:
1.) Removed firewall programs & unchecked Windows firewall 2.) netsh winsock reset catalog 3.) Uninstalled and reinstalled the onboard Intel Pro/100 VE with fresh driver from Intel. 4.) Downloaded the famous winsock fix 5.) Disabled everything in Startup via MSCONFIG; also disabled all but Microsoft services. 6.) System Restore points were not active -so nothing to restore to.
Still NoGo in Normal but works OK in Safe Mode -what might I be missing or what else can I try?

> Dunno wher it is getting this addressing scheme from. 169.254.x.x is APIPA address range. This is "automatic private IP Address" and is assigned by windows by default whenever it cannot get an IP address from a DHCP server.
If you manually assign the PC the IP 192.168.0.100 / 255.255.255.0 / GW 1921.68.0.1 Can you then at least ping the GW address?
