Question : There are no logon servers available to service the logon request"  HELP!

I have two servers One running exchange 5.5 on NT 4 acting as a domain controller (computer name "taylor01) domain name taylorngg.com and the other running 2000 server acting as a print and file server (computer name taylortms).  The external registered domain name is taylor-engineering.com different from the windows domain naming scheme. NOt my idea.  Anyways I upgraded the exchange server to windows 2000 advanced. Everything works fine, except I can no longer map a drive to the other 2000 server.  I could before. When I attempt go to \\taylortms\c$  I get an error message,  There are no logon servers available to service the logon request".  The only way I can map the drive is if I use the domain logon credentials.  Is there some kind of wins or DNS problem?

Answer : There are no logon servers available to service the logon request"  HELP!

you have not mentioned if the windows 2000 is a member server or a domin controller . I presume that it is a member server . As u just upgraded to active directory , I think the first think u need to check here is DNS . Make sure that on the 2000 server the primary dns is pointing to the the internal dns server ( probably the upgraded server IP ) . Restart & c if it work
If not rejoin the domain again . In most cases the problem will be solved here ,
