Question : Alternate Configuration tab Missing on Xp Pro

We have a customer with a Acer laptop Xp Pro Sp2 thats connects to a 2000 Server and works fine (using dhcp) but when she take this home she is using tel2 broadband and has to enter static ip settings. On my desktop pc i have noticed there is an Alternate Configuration tab within tcp/ip properties but this is missing on the laptop. so my question is "any idea why this tab is missing" Any help is appreciated. As the Customer can not cope with changing setting this is quite urgent.

If you configure TCP/IP with a static address the alternate configuration tab is not there. The primary configuration has to be DHCP in order for the alternate configuration to exist.

Is this the case on the laptop?
