Question : Adding switch ports to a Vlan port on a Core Switch

I have created 2 Vlans in an HP Core Switch 8212zl and i wish to plug an Edge switch 1800-24G to one of the Vlan ports on the Core Switch. Do i need to configure anything on the Edge switch? My assumption was that all the ports on the edge switch will be part of the vlan of the port on the core switch. did i assume wrongly?

Nope, you're right on the money. All ports on the edge switch will be in the same VLAN as the core switch port.
