Question : msn and networking connection

i have an adsl firewall router my isp is aol, when its connected i get on aol and yahoo but msn tells me i have no internet connection and wont sign on, its vital i have access to msn messenger because of my contacts on there, have tried every solution to get it to work all port numbers are correct in the router settings etc but it still says ive got no internet connection, if i couple up my broadband connection i can get it but on networking i cant and there is another pc in this area that needs networking have u any solutions i can try

The very first thing to do is get the latest firmware update for your router. Here's the link:

MSN messenger, for one reason or another does not work with this router without this firmware update. After the update, you need to go into your router configuration settings and make a custom service for MSN Messenger on ports 6891-6900. Here's a pic of the service settings box:
