Question : 'Rember Network Password' box not showing when mapping network drive

We have a situation where we're trying to map network drives between stand-alone XP PC's.

We can start to map network drives as usual, but when we get to the stage of entering the user name and password for the destination machine the check-box 'Rembember My Password' isn't showing. This means that we have to re-enter these credentials each time the machine is rebooted - which is getting very frustrating.

This only seems to have started recentlym and only seems to effect new-mapped connections.

Anyone got any ideas - have we knocked a setting somewhere?

Have you tried from a command line using:
net use z: \\ServerName\ShareName /persistent:yes
or
net use z: \\ServerName\ShareName password /USER:UserName@DomainName.abc /persistent:yes
