Question : XP Client Logon Time due to My Documents cache

I have a laptop setup in a test domain configuration.

This particular user account has a My Documents folder of around 4-5GB.  As a result, logon over 100Mbps LAN takes around 10-15 mins whilst it loads "personal settings".  I assume this is due to the updating of the My Documents local cache.  My point is I don't need this local cache as I already have it synced by Offline Files, so is there any way I can stop Windows creating this cache, thus allowing me to decrease logon time considerably.  I have Windows set up to cache the last 10 logon credentials - would this affect this?

Any help would be great!
