Question : Network path not found
|
|
I'm having problems adding one of my pc's to our domain. I get a "network path not found" error message when I attempt to join the domain. I have performed the following:
ping to domain controller - OK ping from domain controller - OK nslookup to domain controller - OK ipconfig /all - shows correct dns, wins and dhcp server replaced nic removed record from wins & dns
I feel like it's a name resolution problem but I'm not sure where else to look/what else to do. The other odd thing is that with my network cable plugged in, I cannot make any changes to local area connection or restart/shutdown without powering off the pc.
any help would be appreciated!!

sorry for the late respons here. From the looks of things, there is a problem internal on the client side. changing the configuration and such should not cause hang ups like you mentioned. Can you change the name of the workgroup at the client? make one up to see if it will change, then try adding to domain again. Have you tried adding the client at the server first? Have you successfully added clients to this domain with the current setup and config? hope something here helps you a bit good luck
