Question : Netbt - Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created.

Windows XP Profession SP1 system worked fine for 2 months as part of NT domain (Dell Inspiron 5100).  Now it won't allow netbios over TCP/IP to startup.  System was part of an NT domain, but can't re-join after changing to workgroup because netbios is not loading.  IPCONFIG shows node type unknown and Netbt disabled.  However, netbt is enabled on WINS tab of network properties and in registry.  System event log has 4311 error during startup, one for each network interface.  Have tried re-installing network components.  There is no RAS.  Browser, workstation and server services running OK.  No apparent viruses or spyware.  No firewalls.  Nbtstat shows driver not loaded.  No other errors during startup.  All hardware appears to be working fine.  TCP/IP is working fine.  I don't know where else to look.

Answer : Netbt - Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created.
