Question : low cost procomm replacement

There is a relatively large installed base of procomm clients with scripted methods for client connection and file transfer.
Because of the nature of the central host only dial-up is an option.

We need to replace Procomm with something of equal functionality (as far as terminal emulation and scripting is concerned) and low cost.

Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonable packages?

I like Smarterm by Esker Software. I have been using it in place of Procomm for a few years.  The current version supports VB scripting.
