You need to remember one thing, TAG holder.
which mean, who is responsible for the domain. example
if you are the tag hold of the domain , you can change your HOsting provider any time by changing Nameserver from Old to New by your self
but example, if you buy domain and hosting from same comany, then the tag holder is the HOsting company, so you will have to go to them for any changes . Now if you want to change hosting then you will ahve to request them either change the Nameserver from them to new hosting company or change the TAG from old to new which is Hassle .
So i would suggest you to buy just domian by your self. so you will have full control over the domain, you will be able to change hosting provider any time if you like.
