Question : Can't get WSUS Group Policy to override Default Domain Policy
|
|
This is driving me nutz. I installed and configured WSUS on a 2003 Member server. Now, I want to create a "testmachines" OU, which I did, and then apply a new policy just to this new OU with the correct Automatic Update settings so I can test out a few client computers and see if my WSUS install is running properly. However when I use the Group Policy Editor, I see the default domain listed first, and even if I "block inheritence", these test machines that are in the new OU take the settings from the Default Domain Policy instead....What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Just remember that "ENFORCED" means that regardless of other GPOs it will be the one that gets applied.
cut/paste from my above uber-long post:
Note: A policy set by the administrator at a higher level to be enforced will continue to be applied even with a block from above set.
