Question : Need to make Windows 2003 Server listen on a specific port

I installed Webroot Enterprise to our 2003 Standard Server and it looked like everything installed fine.  I noticed that the clients are not able to download updates and it turns out that webroot uses port 50003 to distribute, unfortunately my server is not listening to that port.

How do I change what ports my server is listening on?

Answer : Need to make Windows 2003 Server listen on a specific port

Its likely your server is "pushing" to the clients on port 50003. Are you running personal firewalls on your clients?

This article has a short blurb on modifying workstation port access to allow webroot to function.
