Question : Auto Reconnect a PPTP Connection in Windows XP or Server

I have to use a PPTP VPN connection to connect to a remote network. It works fine but once in a while it will disconnect and cause a database backup batch file I run to error out because the connection isn't available.

Is there anyway to make the PPTP/VPN connection automatically reconnect when it is disconnected?

Assuming you are using the Windows VPN, if you look at the options tab, under properties of the VPN/virtual adapter, you can enable "redial if line is dropped", as well as redial frequency and number of attempts, although this should be enabled by default. It will only work, I assume, if you save the password with the configuration file.
