Question : Cannot Ping My Own IP Address

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and my wife has Windows XP Home. We are on a Netgear 814v2 Router and use the Hughes Net DW7000 satellite modem for Internet access.

The IP addresses are:

192.168.0.1  Satellite modem
192.168.1.1  Netgrear router
192.168.1.2  my wife's Compaq 5100
192.168.1.3  my Dell Inspiron 8600

I can ping the satellite modem and the router.
I cannot ping my wife's or my IP address.
I can ping sites on the Internet such as dell.com.
My wife can ping the net, modem, and router.
She cannot ping herself or my IP address.
Access to the Internet is normal on both machines.

I cannot access My Network Places on my wife's machine.
My wife's computer cannot access my shared files.
The Windows firewall is turned off.
I have run Set up a home or small office network on both machines.

Up until just a few days ago all was working well. I did install the new Windows Live OneCare on both machines on August 7th but I believe I accessed shared files after that.

Can anyone help?

Answer : Cannot Ping My Own IP Address

Since Live OneCare includes a two-way firewall this is the likely cause of the problems.

Never used this product but most similar software allows you to setup a trust relationship between IP addresses, you need to look  at doing this for both yours and your wifes PCs.
