Question : EASY WAY TO RENEW WAN IP

Is there a way I can release and renew my wan ip, you know like the way that can be done for the local nic......cmd / ipconfig / release .....ipconfig / renew ...?   I also will be doing this through a router.  The way i do it now is to log onto my router, release the connection, turn of the DSL modem, wait 10 minutes, turn on the modem , log onto the router , re connect. Then i have a new ip.

Answer : EASY WAY TO RENEW WAN IP

With many ISP's you need to change your MAC address to get a new IP. This would have to be done manually on your router, and then re-booted. Some ISP's register the MAC address. If this is the case it has to be changed by phone and changing the MAC without notifying them could result in lost Internet connectivity. This is not something you would likely ever have to do for technical reasons. It only happens when you change equipment. The reason you want to do this, is as lrmoore has stated,  is "not wanting to play by the rules ".  I know of no way to do this through programing techniques.
