Question : Linksys WPC54G is inactive
|
|
Situation: I have a Linksys router at home and the same one at work. I use the same Linksys card for each location. For compatibility, the security on my home network (no WEP) is less than at work (128 WEP-no SSID broadcast)
For some reason, the WLAN monitor on my LT will no longer find my wireless card. It just says 'WPC54G is inactive' - Due to my decreased security at home, I am able to connect by bypassing the WLAN monitor and simply using XP's auto configure function (not thrilled about using it, but it's a bandaid for now), but at work - that doesn't work.
I have tried: *Re-installing the WLAN monitor *Re-installing the device *latest firmware on the card *oldest firmware on the card microsoft updates, installs verifying windows isn't configuring the card when i'm at the office
i tried the * in different orders, knowing how fickle Linksys is, I thought i may just have some steps out of order.
any help, or others sharing in my misery would be greatly appreciated! cheers, m-
